What is Static Hosting & File Sharing?

Static Hosting & File Sharing creates temporary public links for static websites and individual files. Upload a website ZIP to publish its HTML, CSS, JavaScript and assets, or share a document, image, audio file, video or archive without packaging it as a website. The tool chooses the appropriate mode automatically.

How to publish a website or share a file

Choose a file up to 20 MB and select Create link. A supported website ZIP is unpacked in your browser, and its index.html is detected even inside a project folder. A ZIP without a website entry is shared as an archive download. Copy the resulting website or file link after the upload finishes.

When is Static Hosting & File Sharing useful?

Use website hosting to demonstrate a frontend prototype, share documentation or present a browser project. File sharing is useful for sending a PDF, image, text file, JSON document or other downloadable file. Previewable formats can open in the browser; the result depends on the file type and browser. Other formats receive a download link.

Website and file-sharing examples

For a website, upload a ZIP containing project/index.html and its accompanying assets. For a file, upload a PDF directly to get a preview link, or share a ZIP of project documents as a download. The original file format is preserved: creating a link does not convert a file into a different format.

Limits, public access and temporary storage

Uploads are limited to 20 MB. Extracted websites may contain up to 200 files and total 50 MB. Website hosting runs static browser content, not a custom backend server. Links are public, and content is stored temporarily; inactive content can be removed after 90 days without access. Check website links and assets before sharing, and upload only content intended for public access.
